We had a great Easter weekend. On Saturday we went out with Preston's family to Vernon. We go every year, as long as Preston has the day off. He had it off this year and we were excited to go. The weather could have cooperated a little better, but it didn't rain until we were getting ready to leave and, there was no wind. It was just cold. The kids did not seem to mind a bit. They loved 4-wheeling and grandpas Rhino.

We had an Easter egg hunt with all the cousins that were able to come that day. (Lillie, Max, and baby Eli) Dylan and Maddie had lots of fun doing that! It was fun to watch them. This is the first year they understood what they were supposed to do.
Dylan was excited to learn that there was candy inside. After each egg, he HAD to open it and see what his treasure was.

On Easter Sunday, we went to church in our new church clothes. Dylan looked so handsome and Madelyn was a beauty.

The Easter bunny came after church, and after nap. He thinks Sunday mornings are too hectic at our house.
In nursery Dylan and Maddie got some eggs with a special little Easter message, a sticker of Jesus, a flower, and a little chick. Which they LOVED! It was so funny and cute how excited they got over the simplest little things.
Dylan is holding his chick up in the air. I am not a good photographer, so it got cut off. They toted those chicks around for the rest of the day!

New Easter toys

The day ended with dancing in Dylan's room and Maddie putting a bucket on her dad's head!
On Monday we got together with my family at a park for our annual Easter egg hunt. My parents fill lots of eggs with candy and a few with money! There is a special egg that is in the shape of a bunny head that we call "ears" that has the big loot inside, $5 :)
Maddie was an egg hunting fool!
She even found EARS!! Yay for Madelyn. Dylan just wanted to find an egg, stop and open it, eat the candy, then continue. She had over 25 eggs and he ended up with 5 or 6. It was funny! But they had fun!

Our hunters...
Rashel, Melissa, EmmaLee,
Derek, Dylan, Elizabeth, Madelyn.

cute I love your post who cares if there long or not, I love them!
How fun! Your kids are beyond adorable and I love all of your pictures. What a great way to remember all the fun times as they grow up. And your journaling is fabulous! The kids will love it later in life.
Wow! What an Easter! 3 days of it! That's fun! Your kids are quite the hunters! So did Madelyn share her 20+ candies from her eggs with the instant gratification boy? LOL Typical male huh? JK That's so funny to me he had to eat the candy before moving on. :)
Oh those babies are so cute! I really should stop calling them that! I know they aren't really... but its sad that the babies of the fam are growing up so fast! Cute easter outfits carrie! And I love that boo found "ears"!
So Maddie is quite the little Easter Egg bandit....go girl!
Dylan sounds more like Jozie...takes his time, checks things out...funny how kids can have such personality so early on.
