August 29 1958~June 25 2009

I was just thinking YESTERDAY that I was going to do a Michael Jackson Post, I am Soooooo not even kidding! Freaky!! I was planning to do it on his birthday, August 29 Anyway, me and my kids listen to his greatest hits CD in the car ALL the time. I was thinking about my childhood and how his music was a part of it, Watching the Thriller music video and the "Making of Thriller" a million times. Well, you may think that's kind of funny that I was thinking about a post that I am not even going to do till AUGUST! But I am a strange sort of blogger anyway. Lol! I got all sorts of weird ideas rolling around in here. I was even planning what songs I'd play on my playlist... I am truly saddened by his death. If you think he was a freak, you may be right, but the KING of POP is how I will always remember him!! I am going to say something maybe not so politically correct right now. He was raised a Jehovah Witness, his parents were abusive and pushy and strict, he experienced A LOT of fame at such a young age. I think he was under A LOT of pressure a lot of the time. It's no wonder he turned out a little strange and not quite right. I love his music and always have. A sad day.
What's your favorite MJ song? I think mine is Billie Jean.

when i first heard of the death of MJ i thought of white goves and sparkly socks, moon walking and awesome dancing, thriller, beat it and billie jean, man in the mirror and many other uplifting lyrics. BUT he was also an accused (not convicted i don't believe) child molester. my mind for whatever reason did not go immedeatley to that, and so when writing this post i did not even think of it. if he was infact a child molester, he will face judgement for that, and thank goodness. it's a decpicable thing.!!! when i spoke of him being a freak i was thinking more about the dangling of his child over the railing, wanting to buy the elephant mans bones, neverland ranch, and anti aging chambers. he was an AWESOME entertainer, a lost soul, a lonely soul. i wish he would not have gone so astray.
That's funny. All the stuff that didn't come to your mind at first were the VERY first things to enter my mind. I guess that shows how optimistic you are, I think it's awesome. I did like some of his music though...and still do.
I guess I'm like you Carrie, I try to find the best in people too...I didn't think of the strange stuff either until others brought it up. Besides who am I to judge, I'll leave that up to the big man upstairs :)
I LOVE MJ music too...my favs are Heal the World, Bad, Thriller, Smooth Criminal(best beat EVER!)and lots more :)
i think my fav is billie jean as well. i think it's awesome you posted about this. i love reading your blog!
I was really upset when I heard the news..I think in shock a little! I absolutly love Michael. I know all the stuff he the media said he did or didn't do but my personal feeling is he was a great person. Anytime I hear someone say he was a child toucher or anything like that I think to myself "wow, you really could have learned something from Michaels music if you weren't to prideful to listen to the words" I have found peace & love through his music my whole life and it's gotten me through some really hard times and made me a better person...I don't know how such a " horrible person, as others say" could make such beautiful music! I think what Michael would want us all to do is learn the message he left behind in his music... He truly had a beautiful mind and heard...totally god sent!!!
Love every bit of his music! He is one of the only artists that I can actually buy a CD and sit and listen to it all the way through without skippping 99% of it for one song!! :) I have been watching all the tribute shows on him and LOVING the music!! I had forgotten some of the songs it has been so long since I listened to him! hehe I have WAY too many favorites to list just one or two, I love them ALL! :)
